A carefully selected list of leading global investment fund managers serve as fund advisors to imaxx building block fund solutions. While new to the Canadian mutual fund marketplace, these investment management firms have, on average, over 20 years of investment experience. This group of elite global money managers is exclusive to AEGON Fund Management and imaxxFunds within their mandates.
In consultation with AEGON's worldwide partners, AEGON Fund Management conducted a rigorous global review to identify and select managers who have delivered consistent, above-average performance over time. Selected managers also had to demonstrate a definitive investment philosophy supported by a disciplined process.
AEGON Fund Management was assisted in the process of selecting these new subadvisors by leading Canadian investment consultant Mercer Investment Consulting. All final manager selections were made by AEGON Fund Management.
AEGON Fund Management worked with each management firm to determine the mandate and strategy for each imaxx building block fund. The end result is a family of funds that provide significant choice in building wealth-enhancing portfolios.
imaxx building block fund solutions, each with its individual investment objectives, are the ideal complement to your investment portfolio.

Explaining the graphics
The graphics on the imaxxFund's description pages are to help you better understand the unique characteristics of each fund.
Relative Risk: A rating from 1-8 that measures the relative risk of each Portfolio or Fund compared to other imaxxFunds.
Income Investment Style: A graphic representation
of the fund's investment approach. The graph details the fund's bias toward investment in either government or corporate debt instruments. The criteria on which these investments are chosen may be through:
- Credit Management, a focus on the quality (credit worthiness) of each investment, and/or
- Interest Rate Anticipation, suggesting that interest rate forecasts play a significant role in determining which terms to maturity are optimal investments.
Equity Investment Style: A visual to permit an at-a-glance assessment of the investment style of an individual equity imaxxFund. The horizontal axis measures investment style (from value to growth) and the vertical axis specifies the types of investments the fund will make.
Portfolio Building Block: An innovative approach from imaxx to illustrate how imaxxFunds can meet your various investment needs.
- The bottom tier represents the base of your investment portfolio. It is comprised of imaxx TOP Portfolios, offering simple, well-diversified investment solutions.
- The middle tier compliments your bottom tier investments. imaxx building block fund solutions enhance diversification by type of fund or investment objective, for example a Canadian or US growth mandate.
- The top tier represents the inclusion of an imaxxFund
to satisfy a specific investment objective, such
as a temporary holding place for your money (imaxx
Money Market Fund) or for generating an income
stream (imaxx
Canadian Fixed Pay Fund).
